The Internet is constantly evolving and one of the most worthwhile ways it has is by enabling people to engage in serious debates. In this Cato@Liberty post, Tim Lynch writes about a debate on Reddit recently, in which a number of zealots for campaign finance regulation (that is, opponents of the Court’s Citizen’s United decision — the one that Obama saw fit to denounce in front of the justices in his SOTU a couple of years ago) fielded questions from anyone who wanted to participate. As Lynch points out, the zealots had to duck a lot of very sharp questions.

For future presidential debates, maybe we should forget the Candy Crowley types of moderators and questioners and just let regular people send in questions — and then register their thoughts about the answers given.
