More funny stuff going on with the N.C. Legislative Black Caucus.

Turns out the children of at least two caucus members have received scholarship money from the caucus’ nonprofit foundation. One of the recepients is the son of Forsyth Rep. Larry Womble, the Ferrari-driving “retired educator.”

OK, I’ve got issues with the double-bylined story in today’s Charlotte Observer. The lead gives us the “what,” but we only get the “who” in the last one-third of the story. Until then, we’re given double-talk on the ethics of the situation. I just have to wonder why the reporters took that approach.

Binker reports that Rep. Alma Adams will issue a statement later today. More double-talk on the way.
