Lost in the coverage of Wednesday’s reaction to the land-transfer tax votes was the response of N.C. House Minority Leader Paul Stam, R-Wake.
Stam says voters would not have been forced to show their displeasure for the proposed tax (in all 16 counties where it appeared on the ballot) if legislative leaders had not ignored their own rules in the state budget process.
