During my run last evening I saw a panhandler —fully permitted — on the corner of Wendover Avenue and Cridland Drive. It wasn’t my buddy the unemployed archaeologist —-quit seeing him real soon after the Greensboro City Council passed its panhandling ordinance.

It’s a busy corner, with a Kangaroo gas station and a Dunkin Donuts. Cop stereotypes aside, it’s not unusual to see a couple of police cars parked in the lot.

So it’s a pretty blatant violation of the panhandling ordinance, unless of course panhandlers now know that the ACLU has their back.
