I heard some talk (not as much as I would like) about the founding fathers this July 4 holiday.? It pleased me to inform many about one of NC’s signers of the Declaration of Independence: John Penn.

In early 1776 Penn wrote replied to a friend, who had expressed concern over the Loyalist element in North Carolina: “I hope we to the Southward shall act like men determined to be free.? For God’s sake, my Good sir, encourage our people, animate them to dare even to die for their Independence.”
