This is beyond a trend, it is a team MO. Were the Saints close to a decent team they would’ve done exactly the same thing to Carolina that the Giants did. In fact, it was almost to NO’s detriment that they took the lead 31-30 rather than tied the game and took it to OT.
And for the second straight game not only did the Panthers lose a lead, they let horrible last 1st half clock management give up points while denying themselves a chance at points. This is another championship-losing habit Carolina will have to break.
And special bonus suck to the FOX crew which somehow never noticed that a 350-pound OL disappeared. The announcers even mentioned that Jordan Gross had flopped OT spots without telling anyone that Jeff Otah was out with a bum toe.
But here is the bottom-line: The Panthers will next play at BofA with a spot in the NFC title game on the line. Considering they are unbeaten at home, that is a nice position to be in — provided you resolve to change your bad habits.
