Most people in North Carolina don’t know who Fred Holborn
was, but he provided first-hand experience of US foreign policy, how
Congress works, and numerous anecdotes to generations of students who
are now in government, the media, banking,
and elsewhere. Prof. Holborn started the annual crisis simulation
(policy wonk wargame) that allowed us to save or destroy the world in a
weekend while in school so we’d be better prepared to do more of the
former and less of the latter in real life.

Good teachers and professors always need to be recognized, even if it’s after the fact.
