Trust me — I’ve mindlessly run in and out of Friendly Center hundreds of times in the last 20 years and would never expect to be caught in the gunplay shooting* that took place yesterday, claiming the life of a Brinks driver.
Here’s my gut reaction —– a dude is wandering around Old Navy wearing a red wig, and no one thinks it’s suspicious. This is Greensboro after all—– not exactly San Francisco, but we’ve got our share of colorful characters here. I guess we’re immune to unusual dress or behavior.
Here’s my other question —where was Friendly Center Security, which regularly makes its presence known? I find it hard to believe that this guy got away in one of the most high-density areas of the city.
Meanwhile, Guarino says we’re reaping what we’ve sowed with GPD.
