Officials in Orange County are concerned about the elderly. That’s a good thing. But the approach is classic committee work, laden with bureaucrat-speak both in language and length. First, the “Master Aging Plan” for 2000-2005 is 100 pages long. There’s also a “Bill of Rights for Older Persons.” I wish I coud link you to the documents but they’re pdf files and I can’t find a direct link, so here’s the county site. By the way, the county has decided to refer to non-senior citizens as “future older persons.” I’ll add that to my vocabulary, which already includes this gem from talk show host Laura Ingraham.
