Williamson: As a layman, what am I to conclude that there is no DNA found? Is it because your testing can’t find it? But if you tell me that other DNA is found, as a juror I can conclude that if you found this other DNA then you would have found the DNA of lacrosse players if it had been there. Is that fair?

Meehan: Hard to answer. Gives hypothetical cases of husband whose wife is assaulted and only the husband’s DNA is all that is found.

Williamson: You’re looking at the forest and I want you to look at the trees. The single fact of DNA that was found, does that give me more confidence that you would have found players’ DNA if it had been there?

Meehan: Yes.
