That’s Greensboro City Council member Tony Wilkins’ suggestion should the council press forward with the idea of renaming the Lee Street-High Point Road corridor, which runs past the Greensboro Coliseum.

Check out the lede from N&R reporter Amanda Lehmert:

There’s that line from Shakespeare about names.

What’s it? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet?

In Greensboro’s case, it’s more like a road by any other name would look as nasty.

Lehmert Tweets the name change isn’t fairing so well in the N&R poll, what with Gboro facing a $7 million-plus budget deficit and all.

Wonder if that will alter council’s opinion? Bigger question –will it alter the N&R’s opinion—- Doug Clark’s come out in favor, call the proposed name change a “promising endeavor.”
