N&R headline:

“Gatten to bow out; council will take on new look”

I’ve been critical of Gatten in the past, but I respect this point of view:

Gatten, who some had considered a strong candidate for mayor, said residents are best served when new people rotate onto boards. Good candidates need encouragement to run, she said, which means incumbents need to get out of their way.

This will be a very interesting city council race. By the way, didn’t the city council meet last night?
