The Guilford County Board of Education puts costs for rebuilding Eastern Guilford High School on its proposed $440 million bond referendum.

This is a risky move, because, well, what if the bond doesn’t pass? Or is the board counting on that one project to carry the whole bond?

I’m still sifting through last night’s discussion of the bond in order to understand the board’s motivation. It hurts to watch board members pull a million from this project and add a million to that project, thinking they know exactly what the costs will be years down the road.

Here’s the bottom line: If you trust GCS with half a billion dollars to build schools, then vote for the bond. If not, then don’t vote for the bond.
