So Guilford County Schools has fewer employees and a smaller payroll now than it did in 2008, even though Guilford County Schools has had no layoffs and is spending more money now than in 2008. Stranger things have happened.
Nonetheless, the 432-position number in the press release seems to exaggerate the decline.
Not only that, they’re hiring.
