I continue to be amazed at how an episode of All in the Family broadcast 30 years ago has relevance to issues we face today.
In this morning’s episode, George Jefferson — that’s registered Republican George Jefferson — asks Archie to sign a petition to help him get on the county commission, supposedly so he can ‘do some good things for the community.’
Turns out the real reason George wants to get on the county commission is so he can vote to rezone property that would allow him to expand his cleaning business.
Some things never change.
