bbAh, the glorious North Carolina Global TransPark saga has taken another interesting turn. There are renewed claims that one of the few paying customers — one assumes — at the jetport in Kinston is the CIA. And that CIA presence seems to be growing.

Follow along.

The new hangar was built for Aero Contractors, so says the builder of the hanger, Custom Building Company of Greenville. Smithfield-based Aero Contractors, according to many including The New York Times, does business with the CIA. Back in 2005 and in February 2007 Aero was linked to CIA flights out of Johnston County and Kinston.

Kinston is important because the extra-long runway can handle the 737 variant (above) with ease. And it is in the middle of no where. Like the TransPark itself — despite millions in North Carolina taxpayer dollars to the contrary.
