Tom Tveidt, who seems to be the only name in town* when it comes to scholarly analysis of economic development incentives, was retained by the Henderson County Board of Commissioners. For $25,000, he was asked to provide data-based direction for how the county should spend its economic development funds. Tveidt recommended spending on manufacturing jobs; that sector leads the others in terms of wages and revenues generated.
