Hello CATS advocate Mumford?
Charlotte at-large councilman Pat Mumford says he will not run this fall in order to spend more time with his family. Certainly a completely understandable impulse given the time demands of serving in office.
But this move also frees Mumford to campaign against the half-cent transit tax rather than for his own seat. Mumford was long the council’s point-person on matters of transit, so it would make sense in that regard. Let’s keep an eye peeled to see if Mumford becomes the public face of the anti-repeal effort.
