Everybody’s making a big deal about Google’s new street view feature for selected U.S. cities. Actually, it’s pretty neat. But the Big Brother fear mongers are upset that actual faces can be seen. I’m sure people will be zooming in on adult bookstores to see if they know the people coming out the door.

Here’s one bookstore I’ve been in. Just wanted to see what would happen if I zoomed in on this one. It’s Lawrence Ferlinghetti‘s famous City Lights Booksellers on Columbus Avenue in San Francisco. 

 

Turns out that if you zoom in as far as Google allows, and then lighten and sharpen in Photoshop, you could actually recognize this guy if you knew him.  

 

Still, I’m not going to get all “Enemy of the State” about it … yet, anyway.
