There are no conservatives in the General Assembly — not any with any power, at least. Not with $28m. in badly needed state transportation money flowing to CATS’ crazy train-building schemes — plus a blank check for the state to help fund whatever Carroll Gray and his developer gnomes up North decide to build and call transit.

Twin this development with punting on state health plan premiums and there is no way Republican lawmakers in Rawlee can call themselves fiscal convservatives. None. But that will not stop them. The only question is if voters will allow themselves to be tricked into voting for log-rolling, backroom-dealing Democrat Lites.

Update: Oh, and understand that while the GOP has money for trains, it does not have money for the criminal justice system that is supposed to protect us from — or possibly reform — the type of young thugs who went wild in Uptown over the weekend. Details here.
