N.C. Republican Party chairman Tom Fetzer is filing a formal complaint with the State Board of Elections against Gov. Beverly Perdue and the Democratic Party.

Fetzer unveiled no new evidence of wrongdoing during an afternoon news briefing about the complaint. He says he’s taking formal action to ensure the elections board investigates a series of flights Perdue took as a candidate and as governor-elect that might have violated state campaign finance laws.

NCGOP ATTACKS WITHOUT MERIT

Allegations are the latest round in tired political games

RALEIGH — North Carolina Democratic Party Executive Director Andrew Whalen responds to NCGOP press conference:
?The partisan allegations made today by the Republican Party are completely without merit. They are nothing more than the same, tired political games we?ve come to expect from them.
Governor Perdue has brought a new and unprecedented level of transparency and accountability to North Carolina government. The North Carolina Democratic Party is proud to have her as the leader of our Party and to support her efforts.?
