Inside Scoop reports that Greensboro planning director Dick Hails was suspended for three days without pay for dozing off during a recent City Council briefing.
Again, I’m not sure what to believe here, because the Rhino reported that Assistant City Manager Andy Scott was also suspended, but the N&R reported that Scott was docked a day’s vacation for not turning over the consultant’s report on the proposed downtown hotel to the City Council.
Let’s go with the N&R’s reporting and analyze the situation. Hails merely dozed off —- admittedly not good —– while Scott sparked this hotel mess by not providing the council with the proper information, putting them in a very awkward political position.
You tell me if the punishment fits the respective crimes.
