Funny, I thought twice about the slug for this post back in December. Rodney Harrigan was only one guy, I thought, and Stanley Battle wasn’t becoming chancellor of A&T until July. Surely things would be smoothed over by the time he arrived in Greensboro.

Uh, no.

Many of the internal problems at N.C. A&T boil down to things the university didn’t have in place, UNC System President Erskine Bowles told the public university’s governing body last month.

“Most of the problems at the campus center around lack of internal control, lack of proper systems, lack of IT (information technology) functionality, financial irregularities, and the lack of control at its foundation,” Bowles said according to minutes of his remarks during the January 12th UNC Board of Governors meeting.

And the football team is terrible. July might arrive a little too quickly for Dr. Battle
