Today, DPI is welcoming an additional 1,442 North Carolina public school teachers into the National Board Certification family, bringing the state’s total to 12,770. North Carolina has the more board certified teachers than any other state and accounts for one-fifth of all board certified teachers in the US.
Is the investment (12 percent salary supplement for 10 years) paying off? Probably not.
