Drought mongers who predicted the end of the world because of a few weeks of low rain have turned out to be wrong, wrong, wrong. Their big mistake was forgetting that it always rains again.

So, what do end-of-the-worlders do to keep the hysteria going? The News and Observer has resorted to asking people to imagine if it hadn’t rained:

But what if the rain had not come? Can you imagine the fix we would be in now? And with summer approaching, how long will it be before we’re in drought times again?

We’d like your help for our next citizenQ section in exploring what lessons we have learned over the last year.

I hear that next week The N&O‘s “Q” section is going to ask people what they would do if the sun didn’t come out tomorrow.
