Henderson County is talking about helping out an unnamed company with economic incentives, so the main funders (The Taxpayers) aren’t being told where the funds are going….

From the ACT:

The company, which officials have not named, is seeking economic incentives and considering other possible locations besides Henderson County.

“It’s a competitive situation,” said County Manager Steve Wyatt. “The competition for these types of projects — I’ve never really seen an environment like this in the 25 years I’ve been doing this work. When you have the potential for around 300 jobs and $30 million in expansion, it gets intense.”

The Henderson County Partnership of Economic Development has requested space on the Board of Commissioners’ June 22 agenda to discuss potential economic incentives. Partnership President Andrew Tate declined to name the company, but he said it is interested in pursuing an annual, performance-based grant to the company that would provide a property tax break.
