Paul Krugman’s July 29th New York Times article, entitled French Family Values, claims that limiting choice has worked out well for the French. Citing an April 2005 NBER Working Paper, Krugman claims that by not giving people a choice, they are allowed to make potentially welfare improving “decisions”.
I guess Big Brother Knows Best.
