According to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the Georgia State Board of Education is following in North Carolina?s footsteps regarding new high school graduation requirements. Not too surprising as both states are network members of the American Diploma Project (ADP). ADP’s state profiles give lots of good data as it compares state testing with the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), be sure to check out our state.
This is an attempt to raise the rigor of what is expected to receive a high school diploma. It will be interesting to see if the standards get watered down during the implementation years.
