John Locke Foundation President John Hood shared with listeners of Curtis Wright’s WAAV/WFNC Radio program this week key elements of his new book, Our Best Foot Forward, which sets out an economic recovery plan for North Carolina. Hood also spent time on WPTF Talk Radio’s morning program with Demetri Ravanos, and he returned to his regular appearance with Bill LuMaye on WPTF Talk Radio’s afternoon program. Hood and LuMaye discussed campaign contributions and new accounting rules that spell bad news for North Carolina’s state pension fund.

The Winston-Salem Journal picked up a McClatchy news article quoting Hood’s comments about North Carolina’s long-discarded status as an economic “Dixie Dynamo.” N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press email Hood’s columns on targeted tax incentives, North Carolina’s longstanding East-West political rivalry, and underfunding of the state pension system.
