The N&R has a big front-pager today on TIMCO’s “showing off how it is creating jobs and defying the odds in a toxic economy.”

Not a word on the sweet incentives TIMCO is getting to set up the new plant that will employ 275 people:

*$1.5 million from Davidson County and the Town of Wallburg to purchase the former Tyco plant. TIMCO will make lease payments on the building, but they will be returned if job goals are met;

* $200,000 grant from the state’s One North Carolina Fund;

*$1.8 million from the state’s Job Development Investment Grant;

I dare say other companies would be able to thrive in this ‘toxic economy’ with such help.
