Ohio University economics professor Richard Vedder (author of the book Going Broke by Degree) here offers 12 inconvenient truths about American higher education.

These truths are inconvenient for the higher education establishment and its political boosters (including Obama) who would have us believe that higher education is a great national “investment” and we need to spend more money so that the country leads the world in “production” of college degrees. College degrees no longer betoken the least bit of human capital accumulation, much less knowledge vital to “keeping the U.S. competitive.”
