I was just reading a piece in the Wilson Daily Times about a bill I wrote about for CJO today. It would keep local governments from using their unique advantages to set up telecom enterprises, such as cable TV or broadband services, in unfair competition with private firms. The Daily Times quoted bill opponents, then me, and then concluded. In the web version, right underneath the conclusion, is an ad touting the many ways readers can obtain broadband service in the free market.
