Anyone else find it odd that Charlotte city councilman Andy Dulin does not mention being a Charlotte city councilman in his campaign ads?

Does city council poll that badly across the state senate district Dulin is trying to capture? Or does the council seat clash too harshly with the “conservative businessman” meme Dulin is stressing? Maybe none of the above.

I know I certainly liked the issues Dulin stresses in his ads — end of corruption, more roads money, more DAs — as well as the production values of the ad. It is just that not even putting the current office Dulin holds in a crawl on the screen seems like leaving out a relevant data point.

In any event, Dulin and former state senator Bob Rucho should have quite the tussle for the safe GOP seat Robert Pittenger is leaving to run for LG. Rucho’s campaign ads also stress a conservative tilt on the issues.
