John Fund of the Wall Street Journal says, “No.”

Fund delivered that message and others during a Headliner speech today in Charlotte. He offered the following assessment as part of his overall theme: “A Visitors’ Guide to an Alien Planet: Washington, D.C.”

I think the election results are going to be very close. I would say the Republicans have a 75 percent chance of keeping the Senate and about a 40 percent chance of keeping the House.

But just remember, believe it or not, Hillary Clinton doesn’t want a Democratic House because that will remind people what liberals do when they’re in power. Ironically, Hillary Clinton is actually hoping for a 218-217 Republican House majority, believe it or not.

Fund also speculated that former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner’s decision not to run for president in 2008 virtually guarantees the Democratic nomination for Sen. Clinton. He says the GOP nomination is likely to come down to Sen. John McCain and one other person who can survive the early primaries and fund-raising challenges.
