A “rogue contractor” in South Carolina managed to bilk the Department of Defense of $20.5 million in shipping charges since 2000, collecting in one case over $998,000 to ship 38 cents’ worth of washers to Ft Bliss, TX.

That’s 6.8 cents for every U.S. citizen, fwiw. DoD is trying to recover.
