Cone kinda liked he saw of Hillary Clinton yesterday. Hillary’s emotional campaign stop even made the BBC World News last night, and, for what it’s worth, O’Reilly’s body language babe said she thought the tears were sincere.

I caught Hillary’s NH stump speech on CSPAN last night and the stress was showing. What can I say, the sight of a broad-beamed older woman in a blue pantsuit shaking her fist and barking into a microphone just wasn’t a very pleasant sight. It didn’t help that Billy Boy, who’s not providing a lot of spark for his wife’s campaign, was right behind her, looking like Grandpa with his mouth hanging open, feebly clapping and clinching a double fist in front of his face like he was praying.

I do have to give Hillary credit for breaking up the speech with a joke about her trip to Fallujah with John McCain. She and McCain have done a lot of traveling together, she said, and “what goes on the road stays on the road.” When she was done, an old baby boomer tune broke out. Save for her flash of humor, which has been a bright spot amidst the gloom surrouding her campaign, it all seemed so old and predictable.

I give the speech two and half stars. One thing’s for sure, though: It isn’t 1992 anymore.
