Marcus Jackson will be a free man in a year. How else to read reports of a sentence of 25 to 39 months and considering Jackson spent a year in the Mecklenburg County jail awaiting trial?
So much for all the brave talk about bringing Jackson to justice, about throwing the book at him, about having the truth come out in a trial. The needs of Rodney Monroe and Mac McCarley and Curt Walton and Charlotte city council and CMPD brass have trumped the cause of justice. What a tremendous, tremendous surprise.
The filth and rot in local government is now actively letting predators go free. Congrats voters of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. This one is on you.
