As far as we know….no word over the weekend that Jamal Fox would pull out of the Greensboro City Council District 2 race under pressure from his employer, N.C. A&T, for giving his students extra credit for voting.
I don’t always agree with the N&R’s Doug Clark, but he’s right when he says “of course students should vote. But the right to vote also implies the right not to vote.”
Yes we have the right to do nothing here in this country, which makes Obamacare such an abomination. But when you do nothing you get what you deserve. Considering voter turnout in municipal elections here in Gboro –probably right around 10 percent —I’d say we’re getting what we deserve —a ballot where no candidate provides much inspiration.
