The Wall Street Journal’s John Fund has written a terrific article on the victory of the MCRI.

What’s especially good about Fund’s piece is the way he blows the whistle on the attempts to portray “affirmative action” as a policy that’s necessary to help the poor and bring about equal opportunity. Instead, it is about preserving privileges for a few. All the superheated rhetoric from the likes of BAMN and Mary Sue Coleman is a smokescreen to hide the fact that “affirmative action” is just another of the government’s many special interest programs.
