Even though I live in Wake County, I buy my water from Johnston County. The county lost 10 percent of its water reserves when a volunteer fire department recently deposited 400,000 gallons of water into farm ponds to be used for irrigation. To solve this problem Johnston County officials have instituted mandatory water rationing.
Here is how government bureaucrats decide who gets water and when:
1. No lawn watering or car washing on Mondays.
2. Houses with odd numbers can water lawns and wash cars on odd days of the month and vice versa for houses with even numbers.
Apparently no one in the Johnston county government looked at the calendar. I am subject their ?even number? discrimination. Today is the 30th so I will water like mad when I get home tonight because the next two days are odd numbers, 31st and 1st. Then I can water again on Saturday the 2nd. But guess what? The next even day is the 4th which is a Monday, the no water day.
When will these geniuses learn that price is a better way to solve a water supply crunch?
