TriadWatch takes note of the fact that some Greensboro City Council members aren’t aware of the fact that the city has a paid state lobbyist.

The Rhino article also revealed that state Sen. Don Vaughan, a member of the Senate Select Committee to distribute the stimulus money, still doesn’t have a copy of Greensboro’s “wish list.”

Never mind that. I find Vaughan’s description of the so-called ‘stimulus’ pretty incredible:

Vaughan…. said that nobody seemed to know how much money they would be distributing, either to North Carolina or to Greensboro. But he added, “It is scary the amount of money that has been thrown at various projects.”

….Vaughan repeatedly used the word “scary” to describe the amount of money and said, “It’s a scary process. I hope the federal government and the state government are equipped to handle it.”

Only one word to describe this deal: Scary.
