The Senate’s budget has $500 million in mystery taxes on the table while the state continues to hold your tax refund an extra four weeks at no interest.

The McClatchy duo of Mark Johnson and Ben Niolet report, “most of the spending cuts proposed so far [by Gov. Perdue and the Senate] have been on the margins.” Even the $40 million cut in More-at-Four is more than offset by $67 million in temporary federal money.
