On the subject of Thomasville City Manager Kelly Craver’s arrest on drug charges, this morning I heard new Rush Radio morning host Dimitri Vassilaros try to pin down city council member Raleigh York about whether or not Craver had been drug tested.

I was only half-listening, but York told the Lexington Dispatch that Craver does not fall under the same drug policy that governs other city employees:

“The city manager is hired by contract,” York said. “He does not serve under our personnel policy manual. The city manager works for the city council, and anything that comes up with the manager, we decide. We make an independent decision on a case-by-case basis.”

No time frame has been set on deciding Craver’s fate.
