In his NRO artticle today, Rich Lowry discusses Senator Kerry’s contrived “misery index” with a special focus on the supposedly astronomical increases in college tuition. In truth, hardly anyone who really wants to attend college doesn’t on account of the cost. If there is a problem at all, it is that many students who don’t really have much interest or ability in academics get lured into college with the false belief that getting a degree is necessary in order to have a good job.
Lowry calls Kerry the ideal candidate of “greedy college administrators.” I would find it hard to disagree with that assessment.
