I finally got around to reading a somewhat dated article in The Guardian called, “Obama, Come and Take It.” It told how activity at the Great Southern Gun and Knife Show surged with fears of the then-upcoming executive order. The author, Matthew Teague, suggested the president and his men had to maintain a perpetual state of panic in order to keep gun sales up.

What burned a track through the mind, though, was a quote from vendor Charles Towne:

“I’ve read Mein Kampf,” he said “I know Hitler started gun registration about three years before he confiscated guns. That’s the big fear.”
