Civilization as we know it in NC is safe.  The governor signed the milk subsidy bill.  Now babies will get the calcium they need for strong bones and older women can prevent osteoporosis.  NC dairy farmers will receive a state subsidy on top of the already healthy federal dairy subsidy.  After all, when costs of production are higher than the price of the product, everyone knows that the government must step in to make up the difference.  If the General Assembly did not create this dairy subsidy, there would be no milk in NC.  Or worse, we would have to import it from VA and SC.  Our “milk independence” would be threatened.  Read my analysis of the bill here.
