Some people love their pets and need their companionship so much, they cannot be separated from them. The state legislature heard their pleas and has given outdoor eating establishments permission to allow pets as long as they are restrained and kept away from food.

The Asheville Citizen-Times surveyed a few restaurateurs to find out what they thought of the new rule. One said they don’t allow it because of complaints of dog hair and one dog bite. Most were supportive of the neighborly atmosphere even the pit bulls provided. Persons commenting online were concerned about things like foeces and dander.
