Town officials say they will fight a lawsuit brought by Joyce Development Corp. over the condemnation of land for an N.C. 66 connector to Kernersville Medical Center:

“Minutes matter when you are driving to a hospital,” said Dawn Morgan, the mayor of Kernersville. “It is important to have a direct route. It is important to have second access because anything can happen —– an accident can block a road or a tree can fall.”

Or a city can put traffic calming device in the middle of the road. But I digress —- does hospital access justify taking of land to ‘serve the public purpose?’
