This is typical of the left: Vote for the socialist or the world will end! That’s what Democrats were saying in 1994 but it didn’t spook the public. And that’s what French bikini-socialist Segolene Royal is saying in advance of tomorrow’s elections in France. Here’s what the irresponsible Royal said:

“Choosing Nicolas Sarkozy would be a dangerous choice,” Royal told RTL radio.

“It is my responsibility today to alert people to the risk of (his) candidature with regards to the violence and brutality that would be unleashed in the country (if he won),” she said.

Pressed on whether there would be actual violence, Royal said: “I think so, I think so,” referring specifically to France’s volatile suburbs hit by widespread rioting in 2005.

Translated, this means: Vote for me or the Muslim banlieues will erupt again in violence because they know that the conservative Nicolas Sarkozy won’t put up with their nonsense. Judging from the opinion polls, the people of France are fed up with nanny-state socialism and leaders who cater to the Muslim extremist immigrants in the suburbs of Paris.
