This list could be pretty long if kept up, but we’ll add Senate Bill 1283, introduced today, to the growing list of higher education bills in the N.C. Senate that is nothing short than a complete waste.

Sen. John Snow has introduced a bill that would more than $4.5 million combined, over the next two fiscal years, to provide one free SAT test for students.

“To qualify to take the test at State expense, a student must provide proof that he or shee has completed a Free Application for Student Financial Aid,” the bill states.

Now, it’s been a few years since I entered the great institution of West Virginia University, but don’t most students take the SAT first before seeking financial aid? It seems like this bill would give an entitlement to students from the taxpayers that is a little late.
